Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 2 cups Water
- 2 bags Black Tea Bags
Mango Puree
- 1 large Ripe Mango, diced
- 2 cups Water
Sweetener & Garnish
- 2 tablespoons Honey (adjust to taste)
- Ice, as needed (can use frozen tea or mango cubes)
- Extra mango slices for garnish
Instructions
- Boil Water and Steep Tea: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a kettle. Once boiling, add the 2 black tea bags and steep for about 10 minutes until the tea is strong and aromatic.
- Prepare Mango Puree: In a separate saucepan, combine 2 cups of water with the diced ripe mango. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, mashing the mango gently with a fork or potato masher to form a smooth puree.
- Strain Mango Mixture: Pour the mango mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into the pitcher holding the steeped tea, ensuring a smooth liquid free of pulp.
- Sweeten the Tea: Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey into the combined tea and mango mixture. Mix well and adjust sweetness as desired by tasting.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the tea mixture to cool to room temperature before pouring it over ice cubes. Garnish with extra mango slices for an attractive presentation and enhanced flavor.
Notes
- Use frozen mango or frozen mango cubes for an even colder drink without dilution.
- Agave syrup can be used as a vegan-friendly alternative to honey.
- Adjust the steeping time for tea based on preferred strength; longer steeping yields stronger tea.
- For a more intense mango flavor, use very ripe or organic mangoes.
- Store leftover tea in the refrigerator for up to two days for best freshness.
