Description
Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a creamy, flavorful dish combining al dente spaghetti with a rich garlic-infused parmesan cream sauce. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s a perfect weeknight meal that balances simplicity and decadence with every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
Sauce
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain the pasta while reserving ½ cup of the pasta cooking water.
- Sauté Garlic: In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden, about 1 minute, taking care not to burn it.
- Prepare Sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet with garlic. Let it simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes until it slightly thickens. Then stir in the grated parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Toss Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss well to combine, adding the reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach your desired sauce consistency.
- Season and Serve: Season the pasta with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy the creamy, garlicky flavors.
Notes
- Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency and help it adhere to the pasta.
- Use fresh garlic for best flavor; avoid pre-minced garlic for freshness.
- Freshly grated parmesan melts better and provides a richer taste than pre-grated varieties.
- Add freshly chopped parsley or basil as garnish for extra color and flavor.
- This pasta pairs well with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
