Ingredients
Scale
Wings
- 1 ½ pounds wing portions (wingettes or drummettes)
- 1 ½ tablespoons oil (avocado or olive)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (or tapioca starch)
Parmesan Garlic Wings
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)
Buffalo Wings
- ¾ cup buffalo wing sauce (homemade or store bought)
- Green onions (finely chopped)
Teriyaki Wings
- ¾ cup teriyaki sauce (homemade or store bought)
- Cilantro (finely chopped)
- Roasted peanuts (finely chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Heat the air fryer to 375°F for at least 3 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispy wings.
- Prepare Wing Coating: In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat Wings: Add the wing portions to the bowl and toss well until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning mixture.
- Add Starch: Sprinkle cornstarch over the wings and toss again to fully coat; this helps achieve a crispier texture when air fried.
- Arrange Wings: Place the coated wings in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding for optimal air circulation. If your air fryer is smaller than 6 quarts, cook in batches.
- Cook Wings: Cook the wings at 375°F for 24 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket every 4–5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Crisp Wings: Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F and cook the wings for an additional 1–2 minutes to get extra crispy skin.
- Prepare Parmesan Garlic Wings: Drizzle the cooked wings with melted butter, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley, then toss to coat evenly.
- Prepare Buffalo Wings: Toss cooked wings in buffalo wing sauce and garnish with finely chopped green onions before serving.
- Prepare Teriyaki Wings: Toss cooked wings in teriyaki sauce and garnish with finely chopped cilantro and roasted peanuts for added flavor and texture.
Notes
- To avoid overcrowding, cook wings in batches if necessary to ensure they crisp properly.
- Use a light starch coating (cornstarch or tapioca starch) to enhance crispiness without heaviness.
- Adjust seasoning to taste before cooking, especially the salt and pepper.
- For extra flavor, you can marinate the wings in the oil and garlic mixture for up to 1 hour prior to cooking.
- Serve wings immediately after tossing in sauce for the best texture and flavor.
- If preferred, you can use ready-made buffalo or teriyaki sauces to save time.
